WORK EXPERIENCE

Senior Project Engineer, Associate (May 2003-present) King Engineering Associates, Inc. Please see list of projects. Currently involved in strategy to assess, permit and perhaps remediate contaminated groundwater that may occur from pre-loading a closed landfill for expansion of a solid waste transfer station building ($32 million construction cost estimate). Beyond design and permitting, this project requires politically sensitive handling of issues with the coordination of the Hillsborough County Solid Waste Department, the Florida Department of Protection and King's sub-consultant CH2M HILL.

Chosen by Board of Directors to represent King for Tampa Connection, an executive leadership forum aimed at benefiting not-for-profit organizations.
Course Developer (March 2002-June 2002) The Technical University of Denmark. Integration of water supply software EPAnet 2.0 into a graduate level water supply class.
Denmark Academic Sales Representative (July 2000-January 2002). The McGraw-Hill Publishing Company. Secured sales 13% above target of academic textbooks and provided customer service for all Danish academics using McGraw-Hill higher education products.
Computer Lab Assistant (January-May 1999) The Technical University of Denmark, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering. Solved conceptual and technical problems through helping graduate students in biotechnology gain proficiency with AQUASIM program, a tool for modeling aquatic systems.
Stormwater Management Assistant Project Manager (May-December 1995) Pennsylvania State Government, Clinton County Conservation District. Assistant Project Manager in the development of a watershed wide stormwater management plan as mandated by the Pennsylvania State law: Stormwater Management Act 167. Responsible for leading committee meetings and public hearings, creating regular newsletters, helping local communities understand the implications of Act 167 and watershed plan editing.
Researcher (January-May 1997) The Pennsylvania State University, Plant Pathology Department. Examined the response of Amygdalus batsch (several accessions of Spanish almond) to ambient ozone levels typical to southern Spain.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Biotechnology Guest Lecturer (March 1999) The Technical University of Denmark, Department of Environmental Science and Engineering. Presented lecture for graduate level biotechnology class: "Modeling of TCE co-metabolism in a membrane-attached biofilm".
Stormwater Management Guest Lecturer (April 1996) Queen's University of Belfast, Department of Civil Engineering. Presented lecture for undergraduate level environmental engineering class: "Technical aspects of Stormwater Management".
Environmental Instructor (June-August 1996)The Pennsylvania State University's Conservation Leadership School. Promoted the development of young adults (age 16-18) in the disciplines of environmental science, leadership and public speaking.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

Norwegian
Good level of conversational Norwegian. Fair level of written Norwegian. Completed Courses in Norwegian for Foreigners Levels I-III, (The University of Oslo).
Danish
Skilled at translating from Danish into English including work for the municipality of Copenhagen.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Rugby
Created and managed Exiles Ladies Women's Rugby Team in Copenhagen Denmark, which later became the foundation of the Danish National Team. Penn State Women's Rugby USA Collegiate Champions 1997.
Travel
Outdoor Sports
Currently preparing for a half Ironman in Miami and a full Ironman in New Zealand. Mountain biking, surfing, anything that gets me outdoors.
Volunteering
Board of Directors for Hillsborough County ElderNet's Second Wind Dreams Program - a national nonprofit organization that has a goal of bringing seniors to the forefront of our society by enriching their lives and empowering them to age with dignity.
