War-torn and poverty stricken, this country is the most densely populated in Africa. Since the genocide in 1994, more than half of it's population are children. Getting clean water and sanitation to these people will not only help to decrease one of the highest infant mortality rates in the world, it will help pave the road to recovery from their tragic past. I will be travelling to Rwanda with the World Water Corp as part of Water for People to donate my time, knowledge, and experience in the initial mapping effort for this country. I hope to travel to Rwanda once per year to volunteer my services for Water for People. I'm looking forward to witnessing the impact that clean water can make on this small land-locked country.
You can help. My costs for this trip are $4000. Through the generosity of rugby players, engineers, friends and family, I hope to meet my travel expenses. All funds received through this website will be used directly towards this goal. Any additional money that comes in will be donated to the Florida Chapter of Water for People so that other engineers can donate their time and skills to this important cause. All donations are greatly appreciated and can be made using one of the following methods:
Some companies match employee contributions to charitable organizations. Does yours? Thank you for your support! Visit the websites to find out more about Water for People and American Water Works Association. |
